Project Information:

The Problem: Outrageous penalties for canceling unsatisfactory cell phone service. CellSwapper.com was first conceived of in early 2003 in response to a major issue plaguing millions of cellular consumers getting stuck in a cellular contract with unsatisfactory service. This issue is compounded by the fact that the cellular industry ranks lowest in terms of customer satisfaction. In fact, the Council of Better Business Bureaus reported that customers filed more complaints about cell phones in 2004 than any other industry. This means that there are millions of consumers out there who are extremely unhappy with their cellular service and yet are unable to do anything about it for up to 24 months.

Platform, Tools and Technologies:

Challenging usage of prototype JavaScript framework, jQuery library with plugins, OOPS model based scripting, COMET technology for chat module are the major features. Platforms: ASP.NET, AJAX, SQL SERVER 2005 as backend database.

Technical situation

CellSwapper allows millions of unhappy cellular users to transfer their contract to another consumer for the remainder of the contract period. The consumer is fully absolved of all responsibility and is free to initiate a new plan with a different carrier. This system also provides an exclusive deal for those looking to start a wireless service plan a short-term contract with no activation fees.
